Three Core Pillars

Calm Awareness

We use simple mindfulness practices to help participants slow down, regulate, and reconnect with the present moment. These practices are short, accessible, and designed to make creative expression feel safer and easier to begin.

Creative Exploration

We guide participants through expressive activities that help them explore their thoughts, emotions, identity, and imagination. Our approach centers process over perfection, allowing participants to create without fear of judgment.

Supportive Community

We create welcoming spaces for people to connect through art, shared experience, and mutual respect. Events are designed to reduce isolation, celebrate difference, and make creative participation feel accessible to people from different backgrounds and abilities.

Mindfulness & Creative Expression Workshops

Our workshops introduce young people to simple tools for self-awareness, emotional expression, and confidence-building. Using mindfulness and automatic writing exercises, participants are invited to explore their thoughts and feelings through creative activities in a supportive environment. Sessions are adapted to different age groups and accessibility needs. The goal is not to create a perfect final product, but to help participants feel more connected to themselves, their voice, and their community. Scattered has delivered creative expression workshops in Elementary schools, High schools, Cegeps, Universities and even internationally! Demonstrating that creative wellness is possible for everyone!

Visual Arts & Craft Markets

Our Art & Craft Markets create space for neurotypical & neurodivergent artists, makers, and community members to share their work in an accessible and supportive environment. These markets are designed to celebrate creativity, reduce stigma, and create real opportunities for artists who are often excluded from traditional art spaces.

The markets also give the broader community a chance to engage with neurodivergent creativity in a way that is joyful, human, and empowering. Scattered has organized inclusive art market initiatives in collaboration with CIUSSS day programs, connected to community partners and local artists, creating opportunities for artists to showcase and sell their work, connect with the public, and participate in meaningful community events.

Performing Arts Showcases

Scattered organizes accessible arts events that bring together musicians, poets, performers, and community members around themes of mental wellness, creativity, and belonging. These events give artists a platform while creating spaces where audiences can connect through shared creative experience.

Our events are designed to be more than performances. They are community-building spaces that normalize emotional expression, support local artists, and make mental wellness conversations feel more natural and accessible. Scattered has organized variety shows, poetry events, music showcases, and multi-day arts events featuring local performers and community partners. These events directly support our mission by using art as a bridge between mental health, community connection, and public participation.

Resource Drives & Community Giving

Scattered also supports community wellness through resource drives and donation-based initiatives. These projects help provide creative tools, comfort items, gifts, books, journals, and other resources to youth, families, hospitals, community organizations, and individuals facing barriers.

This work reflects the same mission as our workshops and events: making people feel seen, supported, and connected. Scattered has coordinated community giving initiatives including gift drives, creative supply distribution, children’s books, journals, fidget tools, and accessibility-oriented resources for youth and community partners.
