Headspace Method Workshop – Royal Canadian Legion, Huntingdon

In partnership with MWCN

Some rooms have a way of surprising you. This was one of them.

During Mental Health Week 2026, Scattered partnered with MWCN to host a Headspace Method workshop at the Royal Canadian Legion in Huntingdon — and what unfolded in that space was honest, moving, and deeply human.

What the workshop explored

The session centred on four interconnected themes that sit at the heart of everything Scattered does:

  • Mindfulness — learning to be present with your thoughts and feelings without judgment
  • Expression — finding a way to put words to what lives inside
  • Introspection — turning inward with curiosity and compassion
  • Mental wellness — building habits and practices that support a healthier relationship with yourself

Participants moved through meditative reflection exercises, then into automatic writing through poetry and journaling — letting thoughts flow freely onto the page. The session closed with open group discussions centred around self-love, compassion, and kindness toward oneself.

What made it special

The honesty in that room was remarkable. People showed up with openness and vulnerability — sharing pieces of themselves that don’t always get space in everyday life.

That kind of authenticity doesn’t happen by accident. It happens when people feel genuinely safe to express themselves. And creating that safety is exactly what Scattered is here to do.

Thank you to MWCN, the Royal Canadian Legion, and every participant who brought their energy and openness to this experience. You made the room what it was.
