December 2024 was one of Scattered’s biggest months ever. It started with two events — and ended with over 1,000 gift boxes delivered to people in care across Montreal.
Here’s how it all came together.
Two events. One bigger purpose.
We kicked off the month with the Scattered Holiday Art Market, hosted in partnership with CIUSSS. The market celebrated the work of neurodivergent creators and brought the community together in a warm, festive setting.
Then on December 20th, we hosted a Variety Show at Reggies in collaboration with Welfare Avenue. Comedians, poets, musicians, and performers from across Montreal took the stage for an unforgettable night of entertainment and community spirit.
Both events were celebrations — but they were also fundraisers for something much bigger.
The Gift Drive — powered by you.
Everything built toward one goal: getting holiday gifts into the hands of people in care across the city.
Thanks to the generosity of our community, and the incredible support of Welfare Avenue, Mini Biblio Plus, and the Montreal Canadiens, we collected over 2,000 gifts — and packed and delivered 1,000 curated gift boxes to people who needed them most.
Those boxes reached:
- MUHC Foundation
- Montreal Children’s Hospital
- 4 wards of the Douglas Mental Health Institute
- Friendship Circle Montreal
- CIUSSS programs across the West Island
- Crisis centres in Vaudreuil
None of this happened by accident.
It happened because of volunteers who packed hundreds of boxes in under 24 hours. Because of donors who gave generously. Because of performers who showed up and gave everything. Because of people who handed out flyers in the cold when they didn’t have to.
You made this happen. Every single one of you.
Scattered sees you — and we are so deeply grateful.
